The dairy component is an integral part of the Zambia Production Finance and Technology (PROFIT) Project and will contribute to overall PROFIT Project goals by working to increase both productivity and competitiveness of the Zambia dairy sector. The Dairy Component consists of two different parts of which Scanagri NIRAS holds one and Land O’Lakes the other. While the Scanagri NIRAS part mainly focuses on the production side, Land O’Lakes primarily focuses on the processing side. There is however no clear line between the two parts. They are closely interlinked and there is a close and continuous cooperation between them.
The objectives of the NIRAS part are to:
Improve inter-firm cooperation in the Zambian dairy sector, strengthening commercial relationships for the benefit of all industry players
Develop support markets of critically important services and products within the dairy sector.
